Lair of Sheep Community Rules

Welcome to our UGC development community! Please read and follow these rules to ensure a positive and productive environment for all members. These rules are the same ones enforced by moderators and administrators, so knowing these rules can prevent you from receiving disciplinary action on your account.

Last Updated: August 4 2024

Section 1: General Conduct

  1. Respect and Courtesy - Treat all members with respect and courtesy. Harassment, bullying, or discriminatory remarks will not be tolerated. Avoid personal attacks or insults. Debate ideas respectfully and constructively.

  2. Language and Content - Use appropriate language at all times. Avoid profanity, offensive language, and explicit content. Do not post or share illegal content, including pirated software, unauthorized mods, or other illicit materials.

  3. Privacy - Respect the privacy of others. Do not share personal information without consent. Do not solicit personal information from other members.

  4. Civility - Do not behave in a toxic manner (consistently behaving negatively and disrupting the community through rude or otherwise unpleasant attitudes). Do not encourage 'rioting' or violating our rules, terms, or policies.
  5. Reactions - Do not abuse the reactions system. This includes using multiple accounts to give yourself reactions, giving a specific user an overwhelming amount of positive or negative reactions, or give reactions as a reward or payment.
  6. Inclusive Environment - Promote an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome, regardless of their background, experience level, or identity. Discrimination or exclusionary behavior will not be tolerated.
  7. Positive Attitude - Maintain a positive and constructive attitude in all interactions. Encourage and support fellow members, especially those who are new or seeking help.
  8. No Trolling or Flamebaiting - Avoid trolling, flamebaiting, or intentionally provoking others. Constructive discussions are encouraged, but disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.
  9. Respect for Opinions - Respect different opinions and perspectives. It’s okay to disagree, but do so respectfully and without belittling others.

Section 2: Posting Guidelines

  1. Relevant Content - Ensure your posts are relevant to the topic and the forum section you are posting in. Avoid spamming, including repetitive posts, irrelevant links, or advertisements.

  2. Quality of Posts - Make an effort to write clear, concise, and well-structured posts. Use proper grammar and spelling to ensure your posts are easily understandable.

  3. Duplicate Content - Before creating a new thread, search the forums to see if your topic has already been discussed. Avoid creating duplicate threads or posts.

  4. Constructive Feedback - When giving feedback, be constructive and respectful. Offer suggestions for improvement rather than just pointing out flaws.
  5. Avoid Bumping Threads - Refrain from unnecessarily bumping threads to the top of the forum. Only add new posts if you have additional relevant information or updates to share.
  6. Thread Titles - Use clear and descriptive titles for your threads to help others understand the topic at a glance.
  7. Stay on Topic - Keep discussions on topic and relevant to the original post. If a conversation diverges significantly, consider starting a new thread.
  8. No Necro Posting - Do not reply to a post if it has not received a reply in more than three (3) months.
  9. No Self-Promotion - Do not use the forums to promote your own business, website, or products without prior permission from the moderators. This includes posting links or advertisements. You are permitted to promote your server through the appropriate forums.
  10. Avoid Hijacking Threads - Do not take over someone else's thread with your own questions or issues. Start a new thread if you have a different topic to discuss.
  11. Proper Use of Tags and Categories - Use appropriate tags and categories when creating new posts to ensure content is organized and easily searchable.
  12. No Political or Religious Discussions - Avoid discussions on politics or religion, as these topics can be divisive and lead to conflicts.
  13. Do Not Engage in Flame Wars - Avoid participating in or starting flame wars. If a discussion becomes heated, step back and allow moderators to handle the situation.

Section 3: Community Interaction

  1. Helping Others - Be helpful and supportive. If you can assist someone with their question or issue, please do so. Provide accurate and constructive advice. Avoid giving misleading or harmful information.

  2. Reporting Issues - If you encounter a problem or witness a rule violation, report it to the moderators. Do not engage in arguments or confrontations. Let the moderators handle the situation.

Section 4: Moderation

  1. Follow Moderator Instructions - Comply with any instructions or warnings given by moderators. If you disagree with a moderator’s decision, contact an administrator. You can see a list of admins here.

  2. Consequences of Rule Violations - Violations of the rules may result in warnings, temporary bans, or permanent bans, depending on the severity and frequency of the offenses. Serious offenses, such as harassment or sharing illegal content, may result in immediate permanent bans.

  3. False Reports - Do not falsely report someone's account or post. Only report someone if you believe they are breaking the rules. If you do report someone, you should be prepared to explain why you reported them.
  4. Respect Moderators and Staff - Show respect to the moderators and staff members. They are here to help maintain a healthy community and ensure the rules are followed.

Section 5: Account Security

  1. Account Responsibility - You are responsible for all activity on your account. Keep your account secure and do not share your login information. Report any suspicious activity or security breaches to the moderators immediately.

  2. Multiple Accounts - Do not create multiple accounts without a valid reason and prior permission from the moderators. Using multiple accounts to evade bans or manipulate discussions is strictly prohibited.

  3. Account Deletion - Accounts can be deleted by submitting a request via support ticket.

Section 6: Resources, Contributions and Intellectual Property

  1. Original Content - Ensure that any content you share, such as plugins, mods, or tutorials, is your original work or properly credited to the original creator. Do not plagiarize or use content without proper permission and attribution.

  2. Respect for Intellectual Property - Do not share or promote pirated software, unauthorized mods, or other content that infringes on intellectual property rights. Respect the licenses and terms of use for any software or content you use or share.

By following these rules, we can maintain a positive and productive community for all members. Thank you for your cooperation and for being a part of our Minecraft development community!

If you have any questions or need further clarification on any of these rules, please feel free to contact a moderator.
